REPAIRS, SERVICING AND SALES OF CATERING EQUIPMENT

electrical and gas testing

Like most industries nowadays, legislation is in place to ensure that safety remains uppermost in the minds of those charged with managing premises where potentially dangerous equipment is used.

The UK catering industry is, quite rightly, no exception to current safety legislation and of course we provide the right range of testing services and certification documents to make sure that your appliances, utilities and premises fully comply and are covered by a current safety certificate.

gas appliances - natural and lpg

Flo-Gas-BottleThere is no escaping the fact that catering businesses that use both natural gas and LPG appliances are legally obliged to have them annually tested for safety, and caterers must be able to prove that they are safe by having adequate documentation completed by a suitably qualified gas safe engineer.

Catering appliances needing annual gas certificates could include your: Fryer, oven, grill, char grill, tandoori oven, combination oven, hot cupboard and bains marie.

After a spate of gas explosions in restaurants in the North of England a few years ago, some of which caused serious injuries to staff members, Environmental Health Officers began to look into general safety standards both locally and nationally. Nowadays, requests for gas safety certification are routine and arise from caterers in all sectors of the industry.

We are certified by Gas Safe to test both Natural Gas and LPG kitchen appliances and installations, including interlocks, flexible gas  hoses, control gear and pipe work. We regularly attend schools, nursing homes, care homes, pubs, restaurants, nightclubs, hotels and general food service premises.   Once safety and testing work is complete we issue CP42 Gas Safety Certification documents in both electronic and hard copy formats.

Electrical items also need to be regularly tested for safety under the The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, which puts a duty of care on both the employer and employee to ensure the safety of all persons using the work premises.

Armed with the latest test equipment - cordless electronic PAT testers, laptops and portable printers, our engineers are able to produce results lists and personalised printed certification for all appliances and systems, on the spot and on the day of testing.

catering van

mobile and static catering vans

Whether you own and operate a single burger van, a whole fleet of outdoor event trailers or a static kitchen that needs testing and certifying as safe, we can help. Our Gas Safe registration covers work on conventional static and mobile installations that use either LPG or Natural Gas-fired equipment, domestic cookers, commercial catering equipment and laundry dryers

we’ve got you covered

From the many conversations we’ve had with our clients over the years, we are aware that getting catering equipment tested and certified is becoming more and more difficult as legislation often shifts, and the guidelines of how often equipment needs to be checked sometimes seems a bit blurred at the edges.

Whether you run a Swindon based hotel, restaurant or school, appoint us to look after your testing so that you can relax, knowing that we’ll take care of things and will keep and maintain both electronic and hard-copy records on your behalf. We’ll also automatically remind you whenever your testing is due again via snail-mail, text, email or telephone.
